Cesar Santana, MSW student

I am a driven social work graduate student born in Tijuana, Mexico, and grew up in Chula Vista. As a bilingual communicator fluent in both English and Spanish, I recognize the invaluable power of language in fostering connections.

My journey began at San Diego State University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in social work, igniting my passion for creating positive change within communities. Currently, I am actively pursuing my

master's degree in social work at Arizona State University, a journey that fuels my dedication to learning and growth.

I have worked as case manager intern at a mental health non-profit in San Diego, whose mission centers on addressing and healing intergenerational trauma within marginalized communities. There, I learned the importance of cultural sensitivity; I prioritize collaborating with clients through the lens of cultural humility. I deeply understand that every individual possesses unique ideals and perceptions, which demand careful consideration in our shared journey towards healing. Beyond the realm of social work, I find solace and renewal in my spiritual practices.

My free time is often spent hiking through nature, camping in Ensenada, meditating to center my thoughts, and finding

tranquility in yoga classes. These experiences not only rejuvenate my spirit but also serve as a constant reminder of the interconnectedness of all things.
